Shine 2025: The Goldsmiths' Centre champions the UK's Brightest New Talent in Jewellery and Silversmithing

Each autumn, the Goldsmiths’ Centre becomes a meeting point for creativity, craft and new ideas during the Shine Exhibition. Opening on 17th September 2025 and running until 22nd December, this year’s edition brings together eleven emerging makers whose work reflects the energy and imagination shaping contemporary jewellery and silversmithing in the UK.
From intricate precious-metal pieces to expressive sculptural forms, Shine offers a window into the creative minds who are redefining what adornment can be. Visitors can explore the full range both on-site at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and online, where each maker’s collection is available to browse and buy.

A Seasonal Highlight for Jewellery Lovers

For audiences, Shine is an opportunity to connect with new voices in British craft - whether you’re drawn by contemporary design, traditional silversmithing, or simply the pleasure of discovering something beautifully made.
The showcase began with a lively one-night pop-up event in September, inviting visitors to meet the makers and explore their collections firsthand.

8 Industry Experts Reveal Their Top Picks in Jewellery and Silversmithing
During the pop-up event at the Goldsmiths Centre, Iona was also delighted to receive an award selected for her Silversmithing by industry expert Frances Parton, Deputy Curator at The Goldsmiths’ Company - a recognition that highlights the skill and individuality at the heart of her practice.

Curious to see which collections caught the attention of the other experts?
Those unable to attend can dive into the online gallery, where short films and interviews reveal the stories and ideas behind each piece.
As the festive season approaches, Shine also becomes an inspiring destination for finding meaningful gifts and standout pieces that support independent makers at a crucial stage in their careers.

More Than an Exhibition

Shine isn’t just about placing new work on display. It forms part of a wider journey that supports early-career makers as they develop the foundations of a sustainable creative practice. Alongside preparing their collections, participants take part in professional development training, learning how to communicate their ideas and present their work with clarity and confidence.
As Charlotte Dew, Head of Public Programmes, puts it:

“Shine offers emerging makers a space to grow - creatively, professionally, and personally. Each year we see talent at a pivotal moment, ready to step forward. Our role is to provide the platform, skills and visibility that help those steps become long-term careers.”
